and there is nothing on TV. There is nothing at the Redbox, or at the movie theater. You could read a book, play on the computer or Wii, or even pull out a board game. OR you could challenge yourself to try a new show. Video on Demand (VOD) is awesome and rarely used for more than movies or kids shows (at least at my house). Tonight would be the perfect night to learn about your VOD and try a new show. So what if it's the middlle of a season, you can always catch up online if you fall in love with the show. Hubby and I watched an episode of Entourage one summer and then caught up on VOD, and it was so great becasuse there's no wait time between eposodes.
Another option would be to stop scrolling past those "I've-seen-these-already" reruns and indulge, reminisce and rewatch one of your favorite old shows. What I truly love about rewatching The Cosby Show is that I have a new perspective on it now that I am a mom. When the shows were on originally I was a kid and watched it as a kid, now I get so much more as the adult and parent. At times it's like watching a new show.
OR you could just turn your TV off and find something else to do.

Grey's Anatomy
What can I say? I think I am going to rewatch this episode because the whole musical aspect threw me for a loop. I was expecting it and anticipating it being "cheesy" and maybe even "lame." But I wasn't expecting that I would like it. I love musicals, but I wasn't sure how they were going to work it into such a dramatic show. It was done better than I thought.
Sara Ramirez (Callie) has a beautiful voice and had double duty in this episode. Her singing most naturally fit into the show because of the whole out--of-body experience. The others sometimes seemed to come out of nowhere.
I was very surprised with the different actors that could sing. We already knew that Chandra Wilson (Bailey) could sing - she sang a lullaby to her son in a different episode. But some were big surprises, like Chyler Leigh (Lexie). She was belted out a few notes that I was ready to cringe for, but thankfully she hit beautifully. Eric Dane (Mark Sloan), Justin Chambers (Alex Karev) and Jessica Capshaw (Arizona) all were terrific. The only one that truly bothered me every time he sang was Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt). I don't know what it was but I just didn't care for his singing.
This episode was a risk. Grey's Anatomy has taken risks before - remember someone having sex with a ghost, a new character entering to change everything (Addison), or even shooting main characters (a few different episodes). I think Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes wanted to try something and she did it well, but I am not sure that everyone will agree. I hope she decides to stay true to the show for the rest of the season.
Good Job, Shondra. I'm just not sure it was a great job.

Mr. Sunshine
(Say without feeling or emotion)
Mr. Sunshine, Yeah.
Being a huge fan of Friends, I was excited to see Matthew Perry in a new comedy series. Unfortunately, I think he plays his character, Ben, in a very similar way that he played Chandler. Now, I loved Chandler, but it will get kind of old if he's not careful. The supporting characters, on the other hand, are the main reason I have continued to watch.
Allison Janney is Crystal the owner of the stadium. She is completely different from her character CJ from The West Wing. Crystal is the extreme and you really never know what she will say or what is even importtant to her. She is my favorite character of the show and Allison portrays her perfectly.
Andrea Anders and James Lesure are terrific at Alice and Alonzo. She is a former girlfriend of Ben's and a colleague. Alonso is "Mr. Perfect", a former NBA champ and colleague of Ben. Oh, and Alice and Alonso are dating.
Nate Torrence and Portia Doubleday play Roman and Heather. Roman is Crystal's son and lives with Ben. He is the epitome of a man-child. Heather is Ben's assistant and, well, is crazy. Oh, and Roman and Heather are dating.
The little nugget of gold is when Jorge Garcia appears. (Yes, LOST fans, Hugo!!) He plays the straight man that always gets a laugh.
This show could have a good run, let's just see what the writers do!!

Body of Proof
The pilot episode premiered last night. Dana Dalaney was very convincing as the medical examiner, Dr. Megan Hunt, with a complicated past life. There was only tidbits given out about her past, just enough to make you want more. By the end I liked Dana's character but could understand why she doesn't have any friends. The writing was very good and Dana delivered well. I hope the writers can keep it fresh and interesting.
The secondary characters supported her well. The male police detective, Det. Bud Morris, spars off with Dana few times and their chemistry worked. The female police detective, Det. Samantha Baker, didn't have many lines but could develop if the writers let her. The medical investigator, Peter Dunlop, (played by Nicholas Bishop) and Dana's character were together most of the show, but unfortunately the chemistry really wasn't there. I hope it gets better or it will just be annoying.
This show has potential. Let's hope it gets picked up for the fall so it can at least try to get off it's feet.

Dancing with the Stars
It is finally time for the first elimination! There have already been such fun dances and beautiful dresses. I did think that Chelsea and Mark's jive last night was borderline a freestyle. It was fun but not as appropriate for Dancing with the Stars, more like So You Think You Can Dance. Some of the other dancers did much better than the week before but for me there are 4 break out couples.
Ralph and Karina - He is the strongest overall and last night I think the judges forgot it was only the second dance. Judges, get a grip and realize that he is doing so much better than most will do the whole season!
Kirstie and Maksim - What a combination! I am totally waiting for the ego match between the two of them. Also, won't it be great to see how much weight Kirstie can really lose?
Hines and Kym - First of all, it is about time that Karina and Kym got good partners. I think they have been strapped with "loser" dancers from the beginning for too many seasons. However, Hines lights up the dance floor whenever he steps on. He needs to work on his skills and he just may beat out Kirstie.
Romeo and Chelsie - He is a charmer. As Tom said the first show, he has danced more in 2 shows then his dad did the whole season! I watched the season with Master P and I was very P-ed when he kept getting saved. (What were you callers thinking? It did make for good TV viewing, though.) I can't wait to see how far Romeo gets.
Elimination tonight! As Tom would say "Liiiiiiiiiivvvvvve!"

Celebrity Apprentice
Ding Dong, Dionne the Diva is gone!
Celebrity Apprentice has been known for having divas, not only the women but the men also. Joan Rivers, Gene Simmons, and Dennis Rodman to name a few. Dionne, to me, was the silent diva. No one saw her coming. When Joan Rivers walks in somewhere, you know what you are going to get, but Dionne was different. She was under the radar until she spoke and then it was laced with such arrogance. She was condescending to everyone including Donald Trump. As for the rest of the cast, I am trying to figure out how everything will go. Star, Marlee, and NeNe have shown strength. As for the men, each as shown strengths except for Jose Conseco and Gary Busey. This season has intrigued me from the beginning. I can't wait to see how it ends.

Max and Ruby
This show is very sweet. The big sister, Ruby, and little brother, Max, live together in a 2 story house, however, parents are no where in sight. Grandma lives down the street and is in many episodes, but these two rabbits do a lot alone. They have friends over, they celebrate the holidays, they make cupcakes and Ruby has even fried an egg. My kids love the show, especially because it is one, if not the only, show that has an older sister with a younger brother. I think this show could use a few improvements: Max is definitely old enough to use complete sentences, and Ruby should actually watch what Max is doing. The biggest improvement: ADD PARENTS!

CSI: Miami
This show is so funny. I mean, it's a drama police show, but David Caruso's one liners and sunglasses playime make the show so much more. I love the characters: Delko, Calleigh, Ryan, Walter and the rest. The different episodes have so many guest stars and such cool visual editing, that it's like having a little piece of indulgent chocolate every Sunday. One of the many fabulous entertainment centered magazines even suggested playing a drinking game while watching. I sometimes wonder if my time watching this could be better spent watching something with more substance, but then I think about how many times I have enjoyed watching something that is so comedic without trying to be. The characters keep bringing me back. Yes, I am guilty of watching and loving CSI: Miami.

Fringe
I was a huge LOST fan! (I came late to the show, but caught up thru DVD"s - actually that was much more fun and less wait time in between.) I feel if you were a LOST fan and you aren't watching Fringe, you are totally missing out. Friday's episode was fantastic! I love the sci-fi factor even if, sometimes, I watch part of the show with my face covered and my fingers open to peer thru. The paranormal factor can be a bit gruesome at times.
However, this week just reaffirmed why I love Fringe. Even though I was not a fan of the "alternate universe" when it first appeared, Fauxlivia's character developed well during this episode and she truly got my sympathy. The characters' connections to each other in the "alternate universe" surpassed what they have had previously.
I feel like I have to think when I watch this show and sometimes that is exactly what I want. I want a challenge to figure out what is going to come next. A comedy is great when the jokes are fresh, a cop show is great when the unexpected did the crime, and a drama is great when they can stay one sep ahead of the audience. I feel Fringe has done that!
The Office
Yeah!! The Office was a hit from start to finish. It was such a gem to watch. I have been pretty disappointed with the previous shows this season, but from the garage sale to the candlelit proposal, The Office delivered. Jim and Dwight's banter, Pam's camera glances, and Michael, well, Michael just being Michael. It really was great.
Since the fall we have known that this is Steve Carell's last season. Everyone has been waiting to figure out how he was exiting the show. Cue previews...enter Will Farrell. Interesting. He and Steve Carell are truly 2 peas in a pod, so for however long he stays he may not change the dynamics of the show all that much. But...if his character is truly different than Michael Scott then watch out,"we could be in for a bumpy ride."

Friends
I really wanted something in this category because I love watching reruns, especially shows I have seen so many times that I can recite lines. I decided that I should start this category off with my all-time favorite show: FRIENDS.
Here are some one liners that I love!!
Rachel: "...they're I-don't-need-a-job, I-don't-need-my-parents, I've-got-great-boots, boots."
Joey: "How you doin'?"
Chandler: "...And I just want a million dollars!"
Phoebe: "Smelly cat. Smelly cat, what are they feeding you?"
Jon Lovitz as restaurant owner Steve (he is completely stoned): " Tartlets...Tartlets...The word has lost all meaning."
Rachel (very pregnant speaking to her belly): " Get out! Get out! Get out!"
Chandler (to Phoebe and Rachel about his crazy roommate Eddie): "He's standing in the window holding a human head! He's standing in the window holding a human head!
Ross: " WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!"
I know some of these are random but still so funny. I would love to hear your favorite lines from your favorite Old School TV show. Just let me know... maybe I know them, too.
